There is no value in a treasure never shared.

Once upon a time, in a place called Ashtabula Harbor along the Great
Lake Erie of Ohio, there lived a girl named Hilma Ollila and a boy named Edward Hummer.
She was the first child of
Finnish immigrants to be born in America. He came over from Finland alone when he was 15.
From the first years of
the 1900's, during two World Wars and the Great Depression, they raised 10 children with love, faith and sisu *.
Through
the stories of their children, may the values of Edward and Hilma Hummer continue to guide our families always.

* Sisu * is mixed with the character of Finns
like cardamom in nisu.
It's been called fortitude, a will of iron, endless patience,
hard-headed stubbornness,
endurance, determination,
tenacity, pluck, the ability to stay the course, to persevere, to
forge ahead, no matter the hardship, no matter the strife, no matter the outcome, no matter what.
Do
you feel the sisu in you?
