NOTE:  This is a transcription of an original pamphlet, 3 x 6 inches, 8 pages, handed down by Uncle Charlie Fowler, born 7/24/1890, second son of Great-Grandpa Burgess Fowler, brother of Grandpa Jesse Fowler.

HISTORY OF 
 
Carlos Joslin Family 
 
Carlos Joslin, born November 1805; died Aug. 5, 1891.  Mary Bostwick Joslin, birth date unknown, died in 1876.

Their children were:  Lucy Halibut, who married Lattimore Renick;  William Henry, who married Margaret Gillam;  Wallace James, who married Emmaline Thompson;  Adaline, who married Octavius Carle;  Albert Ernest, who married Sarah S. Fowler.

Lucy's children were:  Mary Louisa, who married I. N. Bingman;  William Henry Clay, who did not marry;  Emmaline Melissa, who married Frank Bingman;  Evaline Margaret, who married John W. Fowler; (John W. Fowler was also Sarah Fowler Joslin's youngest brother. These 2 Fowler children both married Joslins.) John and Eva had two children, David and Bertha, and to David is given credit for the dates and the greater part of this history.

James Wallace Rupert, who married Alice Miller;  Francis Albon Herbert, who married Flora Ayres;  Harry Albert Lattimore, who married Mary Beallel  George Sylvanus, who married Lelah Stockwell;  Addie Almariah, who married Carlos Stockwell;  Sarah Susie, who married John M. Stewart.

William's children were:  Abbie, who married John W. Bowen;  Frank and James, who did not marry;  Hattie and Henry, twins, Hattie marrying George Brewer and Henry also marrying but having no children;  Susie, who married John Dieter;  May, who married Albert German;  Paul, who died from scarlet fever when about two years old. 

Wallace's children were:  Annetta, Winfield, Jane, George, Fred, Burt, Walter, Guy and Clara.  George died of tuberculosis.  Walter died of diptheria.  The others all married and had large families except Burt, who did not have any children of his own. 

Adeline's children were:  Austin, Eddie and Alice.  The boys both married but Alice still is single and lives at Hillsboro with the Pinches. 

Albert married Sarah Fowler in 1868.  Their children are Minnie I., (Minnie Icyphene), Iona F., (Flora Iona), Almariah Edith, John C., (John Carlos), Charlotte M.,(Mary Charlotte) and Verne E. (Verne Ellsworth).  Alma died at the age of 6 years.   Minnie married George Vrooman and they had three children, Glenn, Georgia and Floy.  George took his own life after killing his daughter, Floy.  Minnie later married again, this time to Milo Deeter.  They had five children, Theo, Josephine, Emmet, Elden and Donald. (Elden died when small.) They live in Spokane, Wash. Glenn is a mail clerk on a run from Seattle to Spokane and lives in Seattle.

Ona married C. H. Werner and they live in Royalton, Minn.  They have no children. (although Mr. Werner has several children from a previous marriage.)

John Carlos married Myrtle Chilgren, and they live at Greenville, Pa.  They had four children, three of whom are living. Edith and Ethel, twins, and Florence.  A son, Erwin, died at the age of 10 years.  Edith married Dr. O. O. Ranta and they live at Pittsburg, Pa.  They have one daughter, Eleanore.   Ethel married Dr. F. A. Bower and they live at Ulrichsville, Ohio.  They have two children, Freddie and Billie.  Florence married the Rev. Fred W. Hunt and they live near Greenville, Pa.  They have two children, Richard Warren and Beverly Myrtle.

Lottie married Wm. F. Trussell (a Congregational minister) and they had two children, Margaret and Elizabeth.   Elizabeth and her father were drowned while bathing in Elm Creek, near their home [at Champlin, Minn.) in July 1916.  Two years later, in July, Lottie became criticially ill of periotonitis and died and her funeral was held just two years to the day from the date of her husband's and daughter's deaths.  Margaret was adopted by a dear friend of Lottie's, Mrs. Francis Lincoln Lane of Champlin, and still lives there as this is written.  At this time she is a student at the University of Minnesota.

Verne married Lillian Johnson and they live at Heron Lake, Minn.  They have one child, Elzabeth Charlotte.

Births and deaths of the Joslin family:

Carlos Joslin, born Nov. 30, 1805; died Aug. 5, 1891.

Lucy Renick, born Oct. 30, 1826; died Dec. 16, 1903.

Wm. H., born Sept. 25, 1829; died Sept 2, 1926.

Wallace, born July 2, 1832; died Nov. 10, 1907.

Addie, birth date unknown, died in 1887.

Albert Ernest, born Feb. 21, 1847; still alive. (As of this writing in 1931.)
